You have no idea how gratifying it is hear all the great feedback we’ve received since re-opening The Gourmet Whaler on June 20th (soft open). After being closed for more than 2 months and encountering unexpected issues and extra work (kinda a given with any renovation work), we couldn’t be happier to see the surprised looks on our customer’s faces when they walk in the store for the first time since our re-opening. While some might initially miss the chachi items that use to stock our shelves, the feedback we’ve been hearing is reassurance that we’re headed in the right direction.

The physical renovations, expanded gourmet market and additional items offered at our ice cream bar have been well received by both loyal returning customers and first time visitors. The transformation of The Gourmet Whaler thus far can be summed up with a quote by Deepak Chopra, “All Great Changes Are Preceded By Chaos“.
And Great Changes might very well be an under statement! Since re-opening just about a month ago, we have had NBC’s Talk Stoop visit the store for possible inclusion in their up coming piece on Places of Interest in Cold Spring Harbor, a write up in the Long-Islander News, and approached by a filming company to possibly use the The Gourmet Whaler as a set location for their series.
We are over the moon excited about our future and eternally grateful for all the love and support from our family, friends and Gourmet Whaler guests. There is no better feeling when you serve the public to get their stamp of approval.
